why not get what you had since you just bought it
That is still an option, but I really wanna get the more top-end model of the one I had and it's $1750 which is out of my pricerange. If I can't find any other Windows laptops that fit what I need, I might just go ahead and get another PowerBook G4 like I had.. If I do, I'll just have to keep it in a metal security box so no one can touch it.allison said:why not get what you had since you just bought it
The Toshiba I got was a A75-S213 or something like that.. it had dead pixels on the screen, the WiFi card did not pick up anything (plugged in my TRENDnet card and picked up immediately), and the touchpad/buttons stopped working too. I had it for about 6 days.Zumchikara said:I would Toshiba, but you already shot that down. Everyone of our customers who got one loved them. Those who bought Dell laptops have watched them DIAF. Same with Sony. Gateway. HA! I would say IBM, but those are probably going to be costly also.
Chris, I checked Dell's website and browsed around a little bit. I guess I'm not familiar with the new processors because I thought 1.8GHz was slow nowadays? I know my Gateway laptop that is currently dying in a fire was 2.6 GHz with a Pentium 4.goodluck said:I use the Dell 700m, if you went middle of the road on options you could get 1.8ghz centrino, 512 mb, and 60gig for about 750-800 if you had the right coupons. You could max it out with 2 or 2.2ghz, 2gig ram and 80gig for probably 1200.
It's pretty light, has a super bright screen, and doesn't generate that much heat. Check out www.dealsea.com and search for Dell to bring up this weeks coupons. They almost always have this thing for sale around the $750 mark.
Those are pretty cool!Zumchikara said:

We dropped one off a two story building and it booted right up. No problems at all. I have a CD somewhere from when I was getting certified to work on the, where a cop had one in a policecar that burned to the ground and the laptop was pulled from the rubble and it booted. Also one took a gunshot to the screen and still worked when connected to an external monitor.
I will try to find the CD.
Did you notice the WiFi switch on the side of the computer that you have to turn on? Did you hit the "hotkey" to disable the touchpad?Clutch said:The Toshiba I got was a A75-S213 or something like that.. it had dead pixels on the screen, the WiFi card did not pick up anything (plugged in my TRENDnet card and picked up immediately), and the touchpad/buttons stopped working too. Do you like your Dell? What do you use it for? How does it run?
I was just talking about that truck this morning. That was amazing.Clutch said:Those are pretty cool!
