help with honda prelude si 4 wheel steering

i have a friend that is looking for a motor for his 1991 honda prelude. since this car has 4 wheel steering would he be able to put any other honda series motor in it? or would he have to stick with the 2.5 that is in it? and would a different motor efffect the 4 wheel steering ? any help would be appreciated i dont know much about these cars so if i asked a stupid question my bad thanks
