Side Charging AR Upper for AR Pistol?
Thoughts on this??

I'm building a 300 Blackout Pistol & just got turned on to the idea of a Non-Reciprocating Side Charging Upper??

Just wondering if this would be a good idea or not?

The only down-side that I see to it is that when the charging handle is all the way back this rail extends just up to or past the edge of the lower receiver. It doesn't reciprocate, but I wonder if that would be in the way at all??

This is the upper that I'm looking at: http://newfrontierarmory.com/catalog...ducts_id=58566

I personally don't see the need for it. I would just put the money to use for a can and or piston driven system. However if you're just looking for something different, go for it.

+1 to piston driven on short barrel AR's. It's the only way they'll be really reliable.

I did some looking for info on Piston Driven 300 BLK Uppers & I'm not finding anything that makes me want to go that route! A lot of people are saying that it has problems cycling!!

Any thoughts on that? This would be my first Short Barreled AR, First venture with 300 BLK & also first venture with Piston Systems, so any insight would be appreciated!

Thanks!

the piston driven system really shines when running a supressor and sub sonic rounds.... extremely quiet set up.
