What do you all think?

It seems like people have had great success with P90x and Insanity. I am wondering if this would be worth the $90 investment for people like myself looking to put on muscle.

You can't gain 20 lbs of muscle in 13 weeks. It's outside the realm of natural human genetic potential. So right off the bat I'm skeptical.

Realistically you might be able to add lb/week - but probably not with a program you can do in your home with a set of adjustable DBs. Hard to comment on the actual workout because they won't tell you exactly what it is, but IMO that $90 would be better spent on a gym membership.

I know this is old but I just have to comment on those P90x and Insanity type workouts. Those guys in the commercials didn't get to look like they do just by doing that workout. at some point, they added in good old fashioned free weights to build the muscle. For the first couple of months those programs will do rpetty well for a beginner but after that the results will slow.
There's still nothing better than lifting heavy weights and eating right if you wnat to gain muscle and strength. Keep it simple.

Seriously. I gained SO MUCH fucking muscle just by hitting the free weights at the gym. I designed a basic work out routine using various suggestions on the internet. I may not be super "chiseled" or have an athletic body, but I like my size and I'm strong as fuck compared to how I used to be.

It seems to me that you need to consult your trainer if you are a beginner.
