Project: Insanity ....... begins
Well, I finally got underway with the most insane project for me to date. I have been thinking about doing this swap for quite some time and after seeing one at last years Sy/Ty homecoming I started to set the plans into motion. I know where I want to end up and for the most part what parts I will be using to get me there.
Here is a short list of the major parts I will be using:
400+ cubic inch small block chevy V8
Twin Turbos (44-60's)
Built 4L80E trans
Full interior
A/C
All wheel drive
The trans is already finished. I am in the process of locating a mock-up small block to get started with the exhaust and turbo placement. I will keep this thread updated for anyone interested with parts lists and pictures. I am looking for 1000hp/1000tq and be able to drive it to Bowling Green or Tri-state to race. No trailering anywhere. (Except to the Sy/Ty Nationals next year in Kansas)
I started the tear down today and this is where I ended up
Will

Wow, very impressive, how did you do the AWD?
Also a curious question, but how in the world do you plan on getting any traction at all with 1000hp and no weight on the rear wheels, or do you plan on adding weight to the bed?

OK, The Syclone is factory AWD to start with so that was the easy part. I am switching to a 4-link rear setup to go along with the custom front setup I already have (tubular upper and lower a-arms and Q1-A 12-position coil-overs)
As for the weight, well this truck weighs 4200#'s stock. I have lightened it up to around 3400#'s and with the small block it will be back around 3600#'s Drag radials on all 4 corners will help with the traction along with the innovative multi stage boost controller. It outta be a hand full though

Will,
You are not messing around huh? I look forward to seeing it next year at the track. You need any help with anything hit me up.
Cal Hartline might be a good source of information as he is already doing the LSX turbo'd stuff now. Gonna be a tight fit with two turbo's squeezed in there. Did you get pics from the other Syclone you saw? Intake?? I have more questions than input, lol. Sounds awesome!

Will, did you manage to blow up the setup you had on it this year, or just tear it down and start with this?
