Sucks. People don't want to race unless they are the fastest without a doubt. I was never the fastest but I always raced and had a blast, and sometimes got lucky and won a few. Oh well.

true, its not that people dont want to race. cause lots still do it. but if ovis was still around you would need a mid low 5 second ride to compete in the quick 16 or p/a, and not to many have the knowledge or funds to do so around here. there would be a bunch of civics that should run 5's but they would go 6.30@150 LMAO

yeah i agree with gixxer matt.
i never ran OVIS because i would be one of the slowest cars out there running a mid-high 7... i guess you could gamble on a couple people breaking, but you really can't consistently compete against cars that are 2 seconds and 30mph faster than you in the 1/8th...
On a different note, though, I always thought (though it was ricey) that the street-tire shootout thing was cool. that kinda seperated the serious-fullslicks-caged-fuelcell drag cars from the cars that people actually drive on the street. so people like me could actually compete and have a chance to win something without having 900awhp, slicks, and an 8" clutch.

When ovis was in the street car phase, the p/a classes were only running high 6's to mid 7's. I was one of the slower ones but still won 1 event and placed in 3 more. That's the thing with ovis was NOBODY was consistiant. Lots of breakage, bogged launches, and nobody hardly could hit a pro tree to save their life and I think even now lots of cars couldn't make it rounds running 100%.
I wouldn't care if they started ovis again and the cdub cars came out running 5's, i'd drive 2 hours line up and lose with a smile on my face.

i think a bunch of fools on here getting together on like a grand budget and bulding a car would be fun. we compete against each other just for shits and giggle and bring back some of the fun in racing. sucks that im too far away to participate though :'(

I miss the old days. I am going to run at the track some this year for shits and giggles. I am not going to try to break any records or run 6's. I just miss having fun at the track.

This is so true. I wish there was more shop representation at the track these days.
