Not trying to be an ass.....but how does this give you less problems?

good point...its better than the current engine and the one i have tracked down doesn't have a bhg. Plus i have a parts car to get whatever extra parts i need at no cost. It is almost garunteed to develop the bhg problem in time, but i can take care of that later w/ a mhg plus i have a job now so i will have the monies to do this. Basically its an excuse to get a 7m-gte.

Correct me if I am misunderstanding. You have a 7mge and you found a 7mgte. You want to swap the turbo motor into the n/a car. Before you pull your motor go ahead and replace the head gasket on the 7mgte, it will be easier than if it were already in the car. Then swap motors. Thats what I would do anyways.

the motor that is currently in my car is a 7mge not gte. I've done the hg job once and now its blown again...it ran perfectly fine until the other day when i found an oil spot under my car and white smoke coming from behind the rear of the engine bay

hmmmm i do this replace it with a non metal head gasket and toruqe it to around 70 then youll be ok. the reason they blow at lower hp (below 300) IS BECASUE they arnt torqued high enough from toyota. just retorque it and youll be ok. i have all teh turbo eelctronics if you need them like the afm and ecu and such

Absolutely retorque the head to the new specs if you do not replace the gasket (although like everyone says the time to replace it is while everything is apart)

Then engine im gonna bid on has had the headgasket replaced, but i want to go ahead and get a metal hg and arp bolts. My friend talbott was gonna call you about doing the job like a month ago before I talked to some of my friends w/ supras.

hey fool, your head gasket isnt blown, oil leak + smoke = oil leak not blown head gasket, lol and that head gasket we put on was torqued beyond oem specs. Just for that I'm going to make you cuss some more! lol
marcbeatty
02-22-2005, 12:05 PM
Listen you bitch-ass mother-fucker, you know i don't know as much as you about cars or supras. There's oil and steam coming from the same areas as there was before so i used my reasoning skills and thought that it might be a blown hg...again. j/k you know ive been wanting an excuse to do the swap. my dad is still going to think that its a blown hg
Supraman502
02-22-2005, 12:10 PM
damn!! you kiss your g/f with that mouth? thanks, now your dad thinks we didnt put a hg on right, lol
marcbeatty
02-22-2005, 12:39 PM
my g/f likes it dirty. j/k i don't have a g/f. and i told him that it was probably b/c the machine shop didn't do a good enough job when the milled the head. he bought it.

good thinking,as long as he doesnt put matlock on the case, we should be safe, lol
marcbeatty
02-22-2005, 12:53 PM
Don't worry, Matlock is probably to old and senile to remember court procedure, let alone what the hell a lawyer is. Damn, that show is old skool, i remember watching that show like ten years ago.

Haven't looked at the list and really don't know exactly what parts you have. Just some tips I figured out building the Supratruck...
Harness and ECU must match years (within same sub-generations)
AT harness needs minor mods to work on MT, either ECU will make it all work happily but unsure of differences in ECU mapping
You can replace the oil filter adaptor with your NT one if you don't have a cooler
Won't need the driveshaft if you are using curent tranny. Use PP from a 3.4L Toyota V6 truck and disk from a 2.7 truck, they are about 1/2" larger than stock and bolt to NT flywheel. I used the old style TO bearing and everything seems to be happy
All the wires you need to run the dash may not be present in your current dash harness. Get diagrams and check before you plug it up
Hope I haven't told you anything you didn't already know. Good luck with it!

umm lets see pretty much anytime this week i mean ill be gone randomly whenever things come up just come up witht he best time and date for you and ill be here. the price depends on the brackets. the center one is cheap and fine but the ones that are on the seats, if you want those you have to buy the seats. soooo that makes a difference and if marc comes he can look at the turbo eelctronics
Supraman502
03-01-2005, 06:32 PM

Question, ARP head bolts or head studs? whats the differnce and why is one more expensive?
Head studs are supposedly better, however on the 7M they require the engine to be partially removed in order to remove the cylinder head in the future. That is, if you ever need to do so.
The ARP head bolts are still very strong but allow cylinder head removal to be just as it had factory hardware.
