yeh i have one.

its a 2000 with the DOHC 2.0L Ztech engine.
im on the east side,
black, 5% window tint on everything, Cat back exauhst, n1 muffler, struts, springs, intake, headers, and 16's with dunlop z's, bout to buy a andy's body kit.........

would love to get a turbo,,,,,,,,gude performace has come out with there new and improved kit, fucking $2300 with an intercooler.......would really like the Esslinger Stage 2 Hi Performance Cylinder Head...but thats also 2G's....

anyway so yeh im looking for all zxtunners...........ive seen a couple,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and yes not the ones with type R stickers on the back.............(not that there is anything wrong with type R but on a domestic),,,,,,,,,,,,,

I have a 99 white atx, completely stock except for some wheels. I replaced my factory stereo and speakers, but nothing else. Its the same 2.0l, DOHC ztec. Ive got some pics of it in my webshots album at

About the turbo, I heard there is a guy around here who is working ona custom turbo setup for his zx2, a red one I think, but I have no idea who he is, but I cant wait to see it.

well, I think Im giving up on the zx2. Well, not giving up, just stopping. Im gonna try to save up and get a lightning at the beginning of next year.

o, and about the gude kit, im pretty sure 2300 is still the old kit, without the fmic or anything. You should really check out teamzx2.com, we have companies that are building turbo kits for us, that actually work, and fit. Gude sold their kits with no fuel management, no bov, no IC, never fit correct.

engine swap will be the svt focus motor, keeping my tranny. My buddy in cinci has completed this swap, and i witnessed him stay side by side with a gst from a 70 roll, that right there is enough to make me want it. But, if i go turbo, i have the mods to get in the area of 220-250whp. I still debating at the moment, but i think the sound of a BOV from a scort aka: zx2 will be sweetness, so we'll see.

Either way, i want to see it when you get done. I was thinking about the svt focus engine swap for a while, but then I started thinking about getting a new car. I still don't know what I want to do. I change my mind everyday.

i notice ur car is stock. Throw some basic bolt ons on it, you will respect it more.Just with some minor mods, im right at 9.7 in the 1/8. I get some respect. Ill make my final decision when i get my tax return back. I guess ill go ahead and finish my body kit, even though i would really rather spend my money on some cam gears so i can put my cams in. Too many things i want to do, just cant figure out which order i want to do them in.

if you are a tuner you tune your car..meaning adjust the fuel, timing, ignition, ect....look up the word in the dictonary and use it properly......

idontknow, would me adjusting cams, or running a piggy back system make me a tuner? Maybe i can be a tuner one day, thats my life goal.

well, im done, because i dont need beef with anyone else, im sre i have enough enemies as it is.

being able to work on cars, meaning, putting parts on, taken them off...is not a tuner

like i said before.....adjusting fuel preasure, fuel curve, ignition timing, ect..those that make your car run better by adjusting it. then by some means you are a tuner. but that being said then anybody that gets a S-AFc is one..wrong....

there are only a few select people on this board and around this area that are actual tuners. i have meet most of them in person. they can make any car have more power...why, cause they have done it for years and have knowledge in the area and how to do so.

I just posted up because i think i know what he meant by it. and i agree with you, but, it seems you have nothing positive to add to this thread, thats why i was wondering why you even posted. And i know that i dont know much about tuning, but i learn as i go. When i do get to that point, i will still have someone dyno tune my car, and see if i can learn a thing or 2 from them.

cause i can. and i hate it when people call them selves tuners and they have no idea what a fuel curve is or any knowledge on the subject.

And i know that i dont know much about tuning, but i learn as i go. When i do get to that point, i will still have someone dyno tune my car, and see if i can learn a thing or 2 from them.

i have a timeslip for a 9.8 if you want to see it. call bs i u want, i have no reason to come here a lie, i get no satisfaction from that. I dont think the red turbo teg i raced with him running 7lbs thought it either. there HAS to be something realy wrong with his setup, but i heard he runs a 10.2 at the valley, and he didnt keep up, so take it for what you want.

OK OK, i was the person who started this thread. Now I'm going to have to say something here.......when I said, ZX2 tuners, I was saying that as a general term, so you can just chill out on bashing someone because they take pride in modifying there car. Now if you want to judge people who say they are tuners. Then why don’t you go on a Honda website and bash the 2,000 magazines that are called Honda Tuner that 75% of there mods are not true tuning. So get off you high horse. Oh and this talk about

frist part..people are not tuners that put bolt ons on to there car....get THAT THREW YOUR HEAD. i understand that used ti as a gernalization, but you have to understand that, that word actually means some thing that has nothing to do with modifying a car (header, intake, exhaust......)

thats kinda funny to see that you have beat a turbo teg with minor bolt ons. And yes, i would like to see that 9.8 time slip of yours. I killed a Zx2 with "minor" bolt ons last week and beet him pretty damn bad and that's with more than "minor" bolt ons and i know damn well i cant beat anything running under a 9.9. Post it if you got it.

Oh hey sure I remember you! And just for the record I have heard his car runs a 10 and I witnessed it killing a Probe GT, and those run high 9's stock. But ZX2ner if youve got timeslip, post it up.

any way. i have black, 5% window tint on everything, Cat back exauhst, n1 muffler, UDP, Tyco struts, Justbagit.com coilovers, hot shot intake, 4-2-1 headers, and 16's with dunlop z's,
next MODS are, chip, high torque cams(216deg), cam gears, HID conversion kit, and possibly a body kit, but thats pusshing it, i already have enough trouble getting arround sitting 2inches off the grond.
what about you guys what have you done?

i have, header, intake with ram air setup, exaust, udp and odp, pcm, cams are sitting beside me, just waiting for the gears. few other little odds and ends.

appearance is 17's, painted center rear reflector, interior paint, erebuni front bumper, debating if i should even finish the kit, cuz it'll set me back on my near future plans.

the timeslip is for mr. JC_zx3. You have to realize, just because you've beat one riced out zx2, doesnt mean their arent any fast ones. Ive raced zx3's befor, and slaughtered them, but do i go around assuming their all slow? no. Hell, for all i know his car could have been running on 3 cylinders or something, or he could have just learned to drive a 5speed 5 mins ago. You never know, so dont pass judgement so fast.

And, I would be down for a zx2 meet. I already know their wouldnt be a very big turnout, since i dont want to talk to people who just have stickers on their cars, and are getting the parts to match some other time.

My girlfriend has a ZX4 and a Half (4 door Focus) Can she come to the meet also? It has a bone stock ZETEC DOHC engine with the heat sheild removed for weight savings.:hitit:

weight savings, hehehe. Even though a lot of focus people talk down about zx2's, but are the same engine, i dont see why not. I think we should make a ford 4 banger meet, hehe. There arent enough of either focus or zx2's to make a meet alone, so lets combine. If people are really serious about this, we should try to set a date up sometime, giving everyone at least a week notice in advance. What ya say? We could make the meet at the valley, so everyone can show what they can do, lol. I dunno, im just throwing things up, but would really like to see it happen.

you sure it will fit a zx2? i dont see how the monifold would. And some zx2's are different. Ford raised the engine in some of the zx2's (forgot which years). Zx2's have a returnless fuel (or oil, i dont remember) system, do older escorts have that too? I would be intertested, after hearing a price that is. I would have to see it also, cuz im sure there needs to be some fabrication. Any pics of it? if so, email pimpzilla311@aol.com
