well, right now im looking into a honda del sol or dodge stealth rt for my next car. I found a 92 in good shape and under 95k miles for 6500. Im just wondering how reliable/strong these cars are. How are the trannies? (thats my biggest concern) Do these cars resemble most dsm's, meaning always broke down?

Im pretty much asking for owners opionions.

Also if u could post up your 1/8 mile times along with 1/4mile if u have them. Stock and modded.

thank you for any help

The RTs are pretty quick. Of course there will be people that will come in here and say they're heavy as hell and blah blah. Nice cars though. But coming from my experience, the Stealth/3000gt is just like a DSM. At least mine has been anyway. I'm not sure how it is with nonturbos, but the turbo models the transfer cases are bad or can be bad. Might want to check www.3si.org for more info on that car.

ive been on that site for many many hours reading. I was asking here to see how they were locally. I thought maybe that seemed like weak trannies etc because i was on a board that people post on all over the world, and only hearing most of the bad instead of the good. Coming from a ford, i want something reliable, since it will be my daily driver/weekend warrior. Thats why i was looking into hondas. I never really liked them until now. The seem pretty reliable, and u can buy just about anything, anywhere for them.

The problem with my car now is i cant finish the turbo kit because my car can handle the power. Although right now i only really need a new axle and everything will be perfect (better than when i bought it) so i guess its just that im getting bored with it. Ive brought it a long way, time for someone else to have fun with it i guess.

Problem with 3/Ss is that it costs alot to do stuff to them. Well sort of anyway. With the turbo models, there are a few free mods you can do make them quicker, but after that it's money time. Alot of the 3/S guys I've seen that have NAs have been turboing them. Just a matter of which way you want to go and how much money you want to send I guess. Of course you could always talk to tvr-4 on here. He's got himself an amazing machine built.

Ive now got a 95 stealth rt turbo and love it although ive had more problems with it than my old 3k sl, both are awesome cars and if you drive it with sense and take care of it youd have no trouble with it at all, both cars have been dailyt drivers for me and i loved them, also the 3000 was a non-turbo, but i SC it and only went thru 1 tranny but it was already weak so go for it you'll be glad you did.
