Has anybody else had any bad experiences with this board? I followed a link in Eric Mohn's post about Autocross101 on the other board and I register on the CC site and make a post about about Corbeau seats and they all flame the sh!t out of me like I am a dumba$$?

 Sorry I felt the need to vent and I put it in here cause I figured the AutoX people would have some experience with them. Sometimes it makes me wonder why bother with trying to be nice and enjoy cars

ahahahaha
C-C newbs...
C-C is the epitome of Nazi Mods. They flame and if you do something stupid, like ask a question already asked, you get banned. Its simple and keeps the riff raff out. Thats why its such a great tech board. Just search, dont post unless you are sure, etcc..and other netiquite rules.
I read, and ive posted once. Im scared to post though, and ive been a member for over a year.

You have ONE chance to make a good impression on CC. They're VERY knowledgeable, but VERY intolerant of things they don't deem worthy of being on their board.
I joined and made a few posts about my personal experiences with brake pads (Hawk HP+) and a few posts in OT and was generally well-recieved both due to post content AND punctuation, capitilization and grammar (n00b tip: run your post through Word's spell and Grammar cheack before posting). I saw a few non-words in your posts and that's a pet-peeve of almost the entire membership. It's what got them to turn on you. The BIGGEST mistake was trying to call that guy out. NEVER call an OG member out for bashing n00bs on CC. You WILL get flamed and it WILL be hard. Push it and you'll be banned.
If you can cut it right away (see: follow their guide to the letter), you're in, if you can't they have NO problem tossing you out. Sink or swim. Just like the real world.

That is just ridiculous. Just cause someone has a post count doesn't mean they know everything. All I did was simply express an opinion on seats which is what the thread asked for. I just simply disagreed with what a couple people said and some jerk wants to try and call me out which is BS. I think some people on that board need an ego check cause they are riding way too high on their horse. IMHO I see the morons that want to sit there and flame over something petty as the big ole bad Internet Warriors who were picked on too much as a child so now they sit behind their computer and bully arounnd people new to their little neck of the woods cause that is the only thing they can do .
I understand it is a technical board but when you piss on everyone who comes around it is kinda hard to learn from new members IMO. I am not going to go on a board and suck a$$ to the mods or anybody else for that matter just cause I state an opinion. I don't need to know what they are saying that much. If I get banned for that then I am not going to be at a big love loss. I'll just find somewhere else to get educated.

There seems to be alot of this childishness on most all boards. I just say screw em and move on. I don't need anymore drama in my life than I already have.:(

Did you even read this? (http://corner-carvers.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7393)
Corner Carvers is THE best source of highly technical information about building or adjusting a race car. It is run and frequented by a lot of extremely intelligent people that have run out of patience with other forums.
The rules are posted quite clearly in a stuck thread in their General Discussion area. If you do not follow them, you will be mercilessly hounded and probably banned. It's pretty simple, if you can't follow their guidelines (including their adherance to proper grammar), they don't want you around.

You'd get banned after one or 2 posts. NO warnings, just banning. They do NOT take crap there.

On that board, a post count DOES mean alot. It means they're knowledgeable to post alot there and not get kicked off. That's one of the few boards where a post count DOES have meaning.
And if you'd payed attention you had people defending your position. It was your post in your defense that was the problem. If you had just let it slide, or posted a factual retort, you would have been fine. Instead you tried to knock that guy down a level or two, and that's when the problem started. You are a n00b there, you have NO rights. How it is. If you don't like it, you're not CC material.

Correction Brian, I had one guy defend me and some dick with a M3 keep giving me sh!t and is obviously doing his research on me by scouring the web i suppose. Like I said noone should have to suck a$$ to the higher posters (If anything the people with a higher post count should not act like childern). The only reason a retort was given is cause the guy wants to insult my intelligence and the only thing i said in return was that if he can't read my grammar then maybe he needs to rethink something cause this isn't English class and nothing I said was illegible (maybe not correct in form and function but illegible). If you noticed the two words he felt the need to point out are prolly and the phrase back in tha day (self-explanatory to me). Who wants to sit there and nitpick spelling of every little thing anyhow, that is quite ghey.
I think I have about had it with that forum cause i feel like I am wasting their bandwith and wasting a useful thread just cause I gave feedback and they didn't like it. Like I said any info that they have I could find somewhere else. They aren't the end all be all of knowledge.

Then don't go back. It's a DAMN good source of DAMN good info, but it's VERY much a sink or swim place where they will NOT tolerate ANY rule breaking. It's not for everyone, but it is a good resouce for those that can 'make the cut.' then again, no one's forcing you to go there.
As bad as it may sound, you're not going to get sympathy from those of us on CC if you don't like the atmosphere..

True enough. I just posted after I noticed the post so I was just wondering if I was not seeing something.
They may be smart individuals over there but they need to learn a bit of tact cause some of them have a bit of an elitist attitude

If any car board on teh internet deserves to be elitist, it's that group.
Personally, I like it there. Minimal clueless n00bs (th ones that are tehre only stay long enough to entertaint eh masses then tehy're booted), mature discussions and LOTS of VERY knowledeable people. You don't even have to post, and you'll get more GOOD, HARD tech info tehre than most ANYWHERE on the internet. It's a breath of fresh air to the automotive boards, which seem to be filled with more and more F&F and less tech. And their attitudes will keep it that way. But hey, like i sad, it's not for everyone.

They are a bit elitist...yes. But they ARE elite, so its ok.
Watch SPEED and watch the Valvoline Runoffs and the USTCC...see those drivers that always win and are talked about? Those are the guys that post there. The OGs. There are even australians and Europeans on there that race professionally.
They talk mad shit, but unlike any other internet board, they have the ability, experience, and trophies to back it up.

I guess I come from a different school of thought then. Even though someone is smarter doesn't mean they are a better person (it is not ok). Say I am a rich person and I condemn those who are middle-class and lower-class raving on about how I am so rich and so forth and put them down just cause they may not have as much money as me, Is that right? You shouldn't insult someone every chance you get IMO. Sh!t talking and joking around is one thing but this is something different. I understand that they are good at what they do but you don't have to throw it in someone's face every chance you get it should reflect in the way you act. I have noticed by scanning through threads that they feel that anyone that doesn't think like them and agrees with them is a dumba$$ i.e. DB Drags thread.
Read through this e-mail and tell me if this isn't insulting (mind you I have never said anything insulting to this person before):

You either haven't read all the material or your reading comprehension skills are very poor. We aren't like any other board you are on.

I simply made a post and got reamed on.

That happens a lot here. Welcome to the board.

Like I said in my post I am just here to find good information on Autocross which maybe I am missinformed of which I am farily new to.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is plenty of autocross information to be had here.

I have experiance drag racing and I have been showing cars for years but I don't need to feel inadequate cause I choose to show cars.

We don't care about drag racing and this isn't "Zaino-Carvers." If that's the sum of your automotive knowledge you are inadequate here.

Maybe you can point it out. However this is ridiculous.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I pointed some out above. You're right, it's ridiculous I'm wasting my time writing this.
Look around, see where you are. Know your place. If you don't like it, leave. If you're willing to put up with the "ridiculousness" of this place you just might learn something that doesn't involve polishing your knob or cutting a light.

The appeal for me now to that board is just to look and see how biggoted many of the members are. Not everyone but I would say a majority of them are. Some of them seem to be a disgrace to mankind. If we have evolved to that then we are screwed as a society. They can't even see past their own little world. Everything is stupid that doesn't pertain to what they like. I mean some of the responses to my posts don't even make sense. One guy just posted up a search button. Search what? I didn't even ask a question, I posted a reply to a seat thread and wrote two responses to reponses on my original post. To me it seems like I insulted one of the "OGs" so they all have to write responses insulting me most of which had nothing to do with my orginal post. They want to go on about how my harnesses are attached and my "grammar" cause that is all they could write about. OH and one guy insulted my intelligence stating that I didn't deserve a degree. That is low and who is he to judge me. I would love to see one of them say it to me in my face (I would have a lot more respect for them then).
I highly doubt I will be posting anything else cause I will just get reamed but I may visit occasionally to see if I can;t whore on their superior knowledge somehow.

Look at it as the colection of people fed up with the majority of the people on car boards and you'll realize where the attitude comes from. Conform to their ways or don't go there. They're not going to change for anyone. It's not a day care center, they're not going to hold your hand. Represent yourself in a mature, adult manner and you'll be treated as such. And learn to take some crap if/wen you fuck up. They do what they do and they do it better than anyone else. Hang out, follow their rules TO THE LETTER (it's obvious you didn't read their rules fully or your first post would NOT have been made as it was, nor would you have made the follow up posts), and you can learn almost everything there is to know about auto-X and track racing. Don't play by their rules, you WILL get flamed, it WILL be hard and if you continue to fuck up, you WILL be banned. These are the top people in the WORLD, with more knowledge than most of us can even comprehend. Respect the fact that they do know what they're talking about and don't take kindly to people slinging sales (it did look bad you were going against what the majoirty of people said about the seats you're sponsored by).
BTW, now that you've made a bad first impression, your stay will most likely be a tough one unless you change your attitude immediately. They seem to have good memories there
