The valves. I've adjusted them god knows how many times. I have one that just doesnt stay put. I know that they are going to tick just a little , as is the fate of the wonderful 22r's but, this one is always ticking. I'll adjust everything is quite for about 2 days and then BAM that one valve is all loud again. I'll rip open and that valve (the rear exhaust valve) will be all screwed up yet again. I used to set things to 8 and 12 but the valves seemed to tick more. Now I use 7 and 10 and that makes everything quiet but that one evil tick. Should I just get over it and accept my fate? Or is there hope for it to sthup ?

Hey, The 22r will always have some pretty mean valve tick no matter what you do. One thing i have found to help with the noise, and it also reduces oil consumption is the Lucas Oil Stabilizer. I used that and my valves are quieter than they have ever been. you MAY need a new rocker arm, if that one keeps doing it. I am planning on getting a set of rocker arms off ebay here pretty soon, because mine is doing the same thing. The #4 cyl. exhaust valve NEVER stays adjusted for more than 2 weeks.
I hope this helps, btw what kind of vehicle is it?

Oh its my old beat up blue pickup truck, if you've seen an 85 pickup with a bashed in passenger side, that would be me, the only one in louisville with a bonifide crushed passenger door, but god damn my truck is a trooper!
