OFFICIAL Semi-failed meet thread

Well, sorry about that, but someone heard about our meet and scheduled a concert for the same night. Bastages tried to steal our thunder. I apoologize to all who didn't find the new meet spot which was impromptu set-up down at the purple lot, on the far east side of WFP. It was cool to see everyone who did find the place though, feels good to have weekend meets again. Saw some old people, some new people, old cars, new cars, all of it. I hope every weekened ges a better and better turn out (sams trouble makers of course :D )

In other news, Norton has possibly found us another lot to meet in, that was abandoned even tonight. We're going to try to find out who to talk to so we can get official permission to use it in the coming weekends. We'll keep you posted.

Again, thanks to all who came out, and sorry to those who tried to come out, but couldn't find us. We hope to see you next time, and whatever idiot set this meet up will be hit in the face and fired, hopefully to be replaced w/ someone more competent...

The turnout was pretty good. It was good seeing a few new faces there. And I agree with Nacho when we should hit the idiot that set this meet up in the face and then fire him.

When we get a spot on lock-down, it'll be every Fri and Sat night. However, since we're still sketchy on a place, we'll announce any 'official' regular meet spots. We're looking into another lot VERY close to where we met tonight (well, where we were SUPPOSED to meet tonight). We'll let you know when a location is found.

BTW, these are not replacing 'official meets', which will take place durng a saturday or sunday DAY, usually at Cox's park or Tom Sawyer.

less than 24 hours warning is always great! can we set up another one and oh i dont know, give maybe 1/2 days notice at least?!?! not being a bitch, but i realy wanted to go and i found out after i got a phone call from jeremy right after i told my aunt (who i was babysitting for) that i didnt have plans for the night and to stay out longer and i wouldnt mind. if i would have known about the meet i would have told her to come home. plus i want my stickers!!!!!!!

06-12-2003 05:25 PM - 06-13-2003 9:00 PM = 27 hours and 35 minutes, which is more than 24 hours, which, incidentally enough, is greater than 1/2 day (see also: 12 hours) :p Besides this point, it's an attempt at a REGULAR meeting spot, so we'll probably have one every weekend. See also: regular.

The location didn't really work out, so it wasn't really that big a deal. Teh search continues.

I had a good time, got to see some nice new cars, and some old favorites. And not a bad turnout either in the warm, albeit very humid weather...
And thanks to nester for the Sticker, looks good.


My only complaint was the cop who threatened to tow and ticket our cars. He calmly asked us what we were doing, then went straight to power trip mode and said well "im having these cars towed and ticketed or something" Coulda just asked us to leave nicely...
Ohh well.. thats a different discussion for a different day.

Yea, that's why we're trying hard to get permission from the owners of some of these lots, prefferably in writing. Unfortunately, either A) the owners are hard to get a hold of or B) they don't want us around. I'm considering looking for a large lot on a Police Station and seeing if we can't stay there. I'm thinking that IF we can get a spot like that it'll do many things, not the least of which is keep idiots away and show that us car people are alright.

We'll see what happens next week, as we've got a few leads on places.

Yeah...It was cool to see some people that I havent seen in a long time. Its also been a while since I have been to a meet of any kind.
Overall, I thought it was pretty cool. The lot was kinda small though.

I saw some of you guys out at that lot today while I was waiting on some peeps to show up for a photoshot meet. You all should have come out for pictures. We had some nice locations :)
