I've been looking around at bikes just to look and I'm curious what everyones favorites are. Either based on looks, power, handling, etc.. just what do you like the most?

I've *always* been a fan of Yamaha's YZF-R6 and the R1 for their styling, since I don't know much else about them.

I'll put up a poll in a few so you can vote for your fave.

Yamaha
Honda
Kawasaki
Suzuki
Ducati
BMW
more...?

Suzuki wins hands down, for power and handling. Yamaha feels too light in the front end for my tastes, kawasaki has electrical problems(at least the older ones did). I don't mind Hondas so much I kinda like the new CBR 1000RR. just my .02

I voted Yamaha. Im kinda partial though. Also the R6 will out handle any 600 with similar riders piloting them.

Negative.
I havent compared them myself, but one mag I was reading came to that conclusion. I really chose Yamaha because I think they look the best, and they attact more wimmenz than Suzuki.

By the way: Rusty and Blevins.. and anyone who voted Suzuki over Yamaha, what about Yamaha dont you like? Rusty you said that it feels too light in the front, what else?

This is all helping form a decision I can make later.

The Yami's dont make as much power as the Suzuki's. And for 04' the GSXR600 got revamped and is now probably the best 600. That is until Yamaha steps the R6 up, then the war will continue on.

I agree with Jrock. And this is one reason i choose my GSXR over anyother liter bike. The GSXR has came out on top over all others in there battles. With the Liter bikes anyway. Since the GSXR1000 has came out yamaha has been trying to walk the Suzuki for how many years now?? And not been successful at doin it. Suzuki has a thing goin on with the GSXR1000 and its called OWNAGE :D Hell the new GSXRs are no faster then the 01-02 models. Other things were changed but i really dont see a HP increase. They havent had to step up there power at all. Although the magazines may CLAIM they have more HP ive seen it be proven otherwise on a dyno. Basically Its all a preference thing until you wanna compare all around performance, or if your going after the badest thing on the street. If your not worried about going through turns as fast as u possibly can or pulling away from another bike on the highway then its all preference, and what bike feels best to you. But if you like to ride like me or rusty then u want all out performance. And the GSXR has proven to own that.

ive allways had a special place in my heart for honda. everything i have ever owned (dirtbike, quad, sportbike) has been a honda. and i have never had a single problem with any one of them. i guess its just the classic honda reliability. i once accidently jumped my CR125 into the middle of a pond, completly submerged it. drug the thing out tilted it up so the water could drain out got it started agian and it was fine. i dont hate on other brands i like the new R1 and some GSXR's, busas ect. but i really like the CBR1000RR

in the used market right now, (IE 00-03) im torn between suzuki and kawasaki. THe zx6r's are amazing bikes and supposedly better "street" bike, whereas the gsxr looks better imo and is better on the "track". I've sat on the gsx'r 600 and love the feel, but when it came down to it the resale value of those suzuki bikes are too damn high. Kawasaki resale value is shit and i like that when im buying a used bike (cant afford a new one right now).... That being said i just got a another bike thats a kawasaki zx6r. I should be happy with it. Sure i might have liked the gsx-r better or maybe the zx6r is better for me, but when it all boils down to it, its either rider preferance or "I like this brand of soap better because when i wash my balls they always seem to smell cleaner" .

BTW i voted kawasaki, they need some love

hmm...i forgot about the busa...thats probably my favorite BIKE. but my favorite maker would probably be honda because there is a 1996 xr200 in my shed right now...lol. j/j, my favorite is probably yamaha because the r1's body style is so bad ass.

im sorry but 90% of the votes in this thread is all hype... yes thats right, if you dont ride, dont take offense, but joining the suzki bandwagon is not cool. Dont get me wrong i like suzuki bikes but i see everyday these stupid little fawkers who run around and say gsx'r this and gixer that. im personally sick of it... busa's suck... they are fucking tanks and are too heavy to be considered a fun riding bike IMHO, but of course everyone has a neighbors, brothers, uncle who has a busy and went 250 mph on it and that "they are the shit". Everybody needs to learn that there is a different bike for everyone, dont join a badwagon, otherwise you will be like every other ricer out there who wants a honda with a fart can.

'bout time someone said it. Sure, Zuk's are probably the quickest bikes on the road, but they're a far cry from all the hype.

The bottom line is the Suzuki is far more advanced and it shows. You might not wanna accept that and u might have ur own PERSONAL favorite but the records speak for themselves. Suzuki is leading the Liter bike battles and they have been for years now. Like them or not, the Suzuki 1000 IS the best liter bike made. It might not be in your opinion but like i said its your opinion. Everyone has them. There not always correct either. I didnt buy a Suzuki 1000 because im on a bandwagon.... i bought it because its the best liter bike made, for performance. I didnt say is was the most comfortable bike to ride ect ect because its a straight race bike and comfort isnt somthing thats a major issue when ur dealing with a race bike. If somone came out with somthing to be proven otherwise id switch to it. Im not PRO Suzuki or anything, i just go with the best bike for how i like to ride. The power and performace has yet to be matched.... BOTTOM LINE :D There might be a reason for the band wagon guys.... In this case its because its the best :bigthumb:

And im sorry but 900RRs are so outdated its not funny. I wouldnt own one if somone gave me one. There sleds in my opinion and the 115-120WHP they make wouldnt satisfy my need for speed for a second :) Now thats my opinion. And like i said everyone has em...

ohh i love gsx'rs as much as the next rider, they are great bikes. Hell i still want the 00-02 750 but like my first post, their resale value is quite bloated... for two reasons, they are damn nice bikes and there is a saturated gsxr craze..... id never look at someone with a suzuki and tell them they were a fool, id prolly put something along the lines of damn nice bike. But when people who dont really ride scream about the gixer craze i get kind of fed up with it, i guess because i dont ride a gixxer i find myself wandering if these average idiots discount my bike as a peice because its "not a gsxr". My rant post came from nowhere on the side that the gsx'r is not a great machine.... beacuse it is, it cam more from the side of being fed up with the hype it pulls and im jealous of course :)

end my sober rant

Dont get me wrong, i deffinatly know what your talking about. And i share the same view as you on posers that dont really ride, but talk shit about some bike because there buddy has this one that goes 250MPH in 5th gear lol.....The reason I think Suzuki gets brought into it is because of all the magazine write ups on them, from them being bike of the year so many times in a row. And them kicking ass on the track. And how popular they are. So the mag racer jumps to belive there the GOD of all bikes. Even if they are or not...(they are :D) They talk shit about something they really have no clue about.

I deffinatly see alot of posers get GSXR1000s and never ride them to there potential and never have the plan on doin so. To me that really annoying and a total waste. I see alot of this in my home town of redneck Salem. All the kids got GSXR1000s down there just because they wanted to be cool. POSER CENTRAL. Now THAT really gets on my nerves!! All they do is ride around and think "damn im cool.... but good god if truth be known, im scared as fuck of this bike and i really shouldnt have it because im a non rideing dipshit" :) So trust me im feeling ya.

The GSXR1000 may be the best liter bike, but until the 04 GSXR600 was released, the R6 dominated the 600 category. Of coarse the 04 R6 test bike had problems that weres supposedly(sp?) had throttle problems that kept it from winning. This is all from a mag though, and we know that mags arent always accurate.

I heart the looks, performance and ride of the R6/R1's. They may not be the best in every category, but after riding a couple of them recently I really think they are the best "package" bike. Flame away :(

ohh no flames for genuinely liking the looks of a bike, performance, and feel. Not everybody drinks the same brand beer, as long as everybody realizes theres no one best beer, its all good (with exception of that old style i downed last night). It all comes down to preference.

BTW a steering damper would be nice on my zx6r.... theres a complaint about it
