The Bird Meets My 1 1/2 Year Goal!!!

The Trans-Am made it into the 7's all motor, I been going for that # for a year and a half........

1.79 60' 7.98 @ 88.xx

My car is in need of some gear in a bad way....... The 3.23's just won't cut it (On Slicks). Notice I have ran 1.79 60' on street tires before.

Need some input: Do I:

Go for 6.9's on NOS, OR Go for the fasted all motor LS1 without heads and cam. That would leave me to do Long Tube Headers, and a LS6 intake (Which should be good for at least 20 to 30 hp) I think that with 3.73's could get the car to the 7.5's maybe 7.4's on motor

I need a new goal ;)

Yeah, I'm pretty convinced that I don't want to put one in my Z either. Especially since I think it is the last non-OBDII TT sold in the US, I just don't want to do anything to permanently alter the structure of the car.

Its was this year, but I did that 2 years ago. I took the juice off the car and haven't ran it since. They won't let me run without a cage.

I had Nos when my car was running 8.4's in the 1/8 on motor and 7.34 in the 1/8 on the bottle. so I'm guessing that the car would go at least 6.9's on bottle now..

I dont think just adding a 150 shot will let you run 6.9s easy.

Kenyon has run the same N/A ETs as you for the most part. I dont think hes found the 6s easy to hit with a 150 shot.

Yeah I am running 88mph NA in the 1/8th and keep getting 8.0s. Farking 6 speed. 150 shot should get you and me(with a better driver) in the 7.1 range. You could probably get 6.9 with a 175 shot.

Personally if you are not going to put a cage in the car stay all engine.

Put some 3.73s in the auto and you could drop that 7.98 down a bit more the way it sits. I am sure with gears, headers, and intake you could make 7.5 passes all day long.

Autos > 6 speeds at the drag strip.

Also I have only made 2 passes with the nitrous on and in proper working order and those 2 passes I was still (or still am) to much of a chichen shit to give it hell. I'll let you know what a 150 shot will do here soon though.:)

Edit: After reading back over boss's posts you could probably hit 6.9's with the 150 shot and auto. Get your 60fts down to 1.5 or 1.6 area and it would be all she wrote.

A 150 shot would be plenty to do it my 60' should go down to 1.5's so that is .2 to .3 at the 60' mark so that would be .4 to .5 at the end of the track. That alone would make the car run 7.4 to 7.3 plus add the 10 mph to 11 mph it will pick up that will be a 6.9 pass without trying........

But I'm thinking all stock motor will be the best way to go.
