Stock Bose stereo system that out does some aftermarket setups.:)
Edit: Use to have 2 10 inch RF Punchs with a MTX crossover and 2 Punch 75 amps in a bandpass box in my old truck and it hit pretty hard. Sold everything for $250 cause it was too much weight for the Camaro.

I am currently redoing my setup as we speak. What I just took out was 2 15" JL Audio W6's with a Xtant 1001DX amp. I had a Kenwood MP3 player for a headunit. The subs were just in a regular box for any 15's and I hit 143db not the greatest but i never competed just wondered what it would do.
Now for what I am currently doing. I just bought a new Alpine CD/MP3 player. I bought 2 US Amps "DE" 1000 amps and I am buying 2 15" Digital Designs 9515e subs. I still need the box made for these subs.
TUNEDIN, I seen in the earlier threads that you do this how about me and you meet up and you check out my truck and see about making a box for me?
I may start competing after I get this setup done. I'm hoping to get around 155 - 160db.

Hey tunedin any tips on my set up? I need a ported box, who do you work for it sounds like a great place, if you can do many custom jobs, what could you do for a Grand Cherokee?

we built a pretty good setup for my car. this isn't really the best pic of though. got all the supplies to do it from loews. anyways its 2 power acoustik amps ones the new area 51 series 600w and the others an older fire and ice version 300w. the 600 powers 2 10" autotek ss's that sound pretty good and the 300w powers 2 blaupunct 5.25 and soon 2 blaupunct 6*9's

I just went for a clean setup:
Old head-unit Nakamichi MB-75 (6-disc in dash cd changer)
new head-unit Kenwood MPV-619 I think, its the version before the new mpv-622. MP3/CD Player
Nakamichi SP-S5500 5 1/4 front component speakers
Nakamichi SP-C692 6x9 rear speakers
Nakamichi SP-W124S 12in Sub
McIntosh 6 channel amp 50x4, 100x2 bridged to push the sub.
Not the most powerful setup, but it has one of the clearest sounds I've ever heard. That damn McIntosh amp is freakin huge and its pretty cool to hear the fans kick on and off at random times.

Panasonic CQ-VAD7200U DVD W/ 7" LCD Monitor, MP3 and TV tuner capabilities.
15" Sony Xplod
Factory components
I just had the reciever and sub installed today at Robert's and I'm very happy with the results! There's only two things I don't like...
1) the TV tuner antenna attached to the back windshield looks kinda nasty, but I have to deal with it for the tuner to work.
2) the box was custom made to fit in the WRX but it slides around too much so I'm already looking to have a custom fiberglass or wood inclosure built to keep the sub and amp from sliding around. How much would that run me?

those setups look NICE! i wish i had that much money... but i'm satisfied with what i have. I have the factory pre-amped infinity sound system in the eclipse... 2 1½" tweeters, 2 5¼" cones in the doors and 2 5x8's in the back, and i've also included a Kicker KX 120.2 amp pushing 2 8" Clarion subs in a custom box in the trunk... anybody who's ridden in my car (or been near my car ;) ) knows it rocks out. only thing is those damn speakerguards keep making that rattling sound. :(

two questions, first why do you need a TV in the car?
second, if you get a wood enclosure, thing about the extra weight you just added to the already heavy suby, fiberglass would be the way to go, but IMO I would try to get some enclosure which didn't eat up the either trunk, just something to blend into the back of the rear seats, so you still get trunk room.

not to say that anybody else is this stupid, but a guy that i went to high school with totalled his Dodge Stealth that he had decked out with mommy-n-daddy's money... anybody want to take a guess how? he was playing his playstation while driving down a bi-directional highway, looked up and saw he was heading into oncoming traffic, swerved, lost control, hit a tree... when he told us about what happened, we all laughed our asses off at him and called him a dumbass.

1) It's cool, it's niffty, and not many people have it especially in WRX's.
2) The trunk of the WRX is more then spacious enough to fit a tight fiberglass enclosure that would give me pleanty of trunk space still.

could be a reason for that....
I know that thing has a big trunk, but I wanted to make sure you didn't get some ellaborate wooden enclosure that would weigh that bitch down like a 400lb elephant sitting in the trunk. Remember, if you want performance, weight is the enemy.
