The radio in safe mode

My sister has a 98 Jetta and recently got some work done to it. Now the radio is in safe mode. I have the code but I do not know what to do after I put the code in. Any help will be appreciated.

If you have the 4 digit code, turn the radio on and the radio should say SAFE for a second or two then say "1000". Use the radi preset buttons 1 to 4 to enter the code number. Press button 1 until you get the first number and so on with the others. After you put the code in press the ">" right side seek button for longer than 2 seconds until you hear an beep, and then the radio should automatically turn on.

That is what I messaged you earlier for but I figured it out before hand. Seriously who is going to steal a stock radio.
