15 hours later...my right hip/side/ribs.

So, almost a year ago now, my now ex-b/f called me all excited about something that he'd drawn at Art Jam and wanted to tattoo on me. Being four hours away and not having seen it yet, I say A) no, nothing on my ribs b)not a fucking bird and c) not something as huge as you're describing. I get back to Louisville and see it, and fell in love w/ it b/c of the colors. I can usually only sit (as far as my hip/side/ribs goes at least) for about an hour. However, this weekend is the Hell City Convention, and since I want to compete, we sat for four hours yesterday and finished it. The actual bird is finished, the background hasn't even been started, but it'll be a bit before we get to that. It'll compete in a new school category on friday, and then whatever size they put me in on Saturday. The quality of this pic is shitty and it looks small, but the colors are actually really bright, and it's about a foot long. Eventually, I'll have the same one, but in different colors, on my left side. The backgrounds will fade into the backpiece that i've been deciding on and designing for a while now. I'm really excited about this and just wanted to share...eventually i'll post pics of the process...from it having the first outline to the last pics w/ the background. :-)

I think that when you get as far into something as I am with this, when it's more than just a hobby, it's a lifestyle, it's not about changing feelings towards it. I'm finally going to what I want/need/crave...my sides, entire back, and maybe half of 1/3 sleeves. They are a part of me. This is who i am.

I have to say that that tat looks pretty damn good and even sexy the way it is positioned. Although I would like to see a finished pic, as the meaning of the bird and what it will represent is somethign I'm not getting at the moment.
