I have a 85 cabby that I just picked up the other day. When I went to get it I noticed a horrendous(?sp) noise coming from the pass rear wheel area. Well I finally went out today to investigate what was causing the noise. It appears that the part of the body where the Strut rod goes through to bolt up has been elongated/torn, the sheet metal that is. So now the shock moves in a side to side motion. Is there anything I can do to fix this. I was thinking that I might be able to weld a washer over top of the sheet metal and create a make-shift place to bolt the strut to. Would this work? Please give me some ideas.
